An all-American classic with
ocean-going capability and
amazing volume
Delivered by her Canadian builder in 2007, CALLIOPE is a high-volume fiberglass tri-deck yacht with a finely detailed, traditional interior. Number four of the successful Richmond 142’ semi-custom projects, her all-American build team included the award-winning naval architect Ward Setzer known for his “go anywhere bluewater ready" yachts. Designed and built with ample sea-keeping ability, CALLIOPE is also wonderfully livable. Her functional interior by Pavlik Yacht Design featuring impeccably book-matched mahogany veneer joinery can accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 double staterooms as well as 8 crew members. CALLIOPE has extraordinary deck space for her size, good access to the water, ample storage and a 2,850 nm range at 10 knots.
THE STORY
Richmond Yachts was all about the owner/user experience. Owned and managed by a knowledgeable yachtsman, the Vancouver B.C. based shipyard focused on semi-custom yachts with high-quality interiors and innovative, thoughtful features not found on competitors' vessels. Space was maximized inside and out - CALLIOPE feels much larger than her 43m/395 gross tons - and her functional layout designed for leisure and entertainment reflects the more informal approach to yachting appreciated by the American market such as an owner's open galley, wide doorways and less bulkhead divisions than on a European yacht. Built to go anywhere, CALLIOPE has a shallow draft for coastal cruising but is a proven world cruiser and recently completed a three-year circumnavigation of the globe. Classed by ABS, CALLIOPE is only used privately, but she would make an excellent addition to the international charter market.
